Hayatından memnun olamayanların yaşadığı ülkelerde olur devrimler. Bugün İsveç, İsviçre, Fransa, İngiltere gibi ülkelerde devrim yapmanız mümkün değildir.

Devrim yapmak için insanları peşinize takmanız; onları ateşlemeniz, kanlarını kaynatmanız, onların da size inanması lazım.

Yaşayanların memnuniyetsizliği ülkeden ülkeye değişir; sanayileşen toplumlarda işçiler çalışma hayatının adaletsizliğinden şikâyetçiyken, tarım toplumlarında açlıktan, bir diğerinde devletin baskısından olabilir devrimler.

Bir devrim yaşansa da sonu her zaman güzel bitmez. Devrim yaptığı halde kendini yaşatabilmiş devrim lideri çok az olduğu gibi, yaşanan sürecin sonunda halkın “yandım Allah, kurtarın bizi” feryatlarını duyan olsa da, pek yardıma koşan olmamıştır.

Halk yaptığının bedelini çoğu zaman yüzyıl gibi bir süreçte öder.

Başkası değildir ona bu kötülüğü yapan, bizzat kendisidir…

Devrimler aristokratları idam eder önce;

Sonra aristokratların idamına karar veren devrim liderlerini…

Boşalan koltuklara oturanlar bir bakarlar ki, ortada bir mekanizma var ve bu mekanizmayı kullanmayı bilen kimse yok.

Biri çıkar “ben köyde traktör kullanmıştım sanayiden anlarım” der Sanayi Bakanı, öbürü “benim babam sinemada yer göstericiydi” der “Kültür Bakanı”, diğeri “ben askerde sıhhiyeciydim” der Sağlık Bakanı olur.

Sevgilisine kızdığı için otomobilini yakan Kasımpaşalı gibi yaptığının yanlış olduğunu halk sonunda anlar ama devletlerin kaskosu olmadığını anladığında iş işten geçmiştir. Bir devletin uluslararası arenada kaybettiklerini hiçbir sigorta şirketi geri getiremez.

Devrimin kıvılcımı parladığında histerisi de başlar; memnuniyetsizlerini dışa vuranlar bu kitleleri kullananların oyuncağı olurlar.

Bir dalın üzerinde hep beraber bağırırlar, birileri o dalı kökünden keserken.

Hiç biri, devrimin histerisi ile farkında bile değildir az sonra dalın koparak yere düşeceğinden.

Devrim histerisi tehlikeli bir at gözlüğüdür, etrafı görmenizi engeller. Düştüğünüzde o sarsıntı ile gözlük fırlayıverir, bir bakarsınız ağaçta hiç tanımadığınız biri elinde testere ile size gülüyor; ne ona ulaşabilirsiniz, ne de bağırıp çağırmanız bir fayda verir.
